Summer Holiday Foodclub

As part of our bigger plan at ACR, we are committed to improving outcomes and prevent problems by addressing needs and vulnerabilities early.

To achieve this, one of our aims is to offer children and young people groups encompassing activities like prevention, diversion, and targeted support.

Funding from our partners, Cash for Kids, have allowed us to offer support to vulnerable children during school holidays by offering a holiday lunch club, where children can come together, enjoy friendship and access support.

The children who are supported by this project have access to a qualified teacher to assist with any learning support needs and trained group facilitators to provide hot food, informed activities and a welcoming friendly environment.

The holiday club saw the children playing bubbles and games outdoors. Then races and performance dancing inside when the rain started. They all enjoyed the support offered by Miss Cook, who is a teacher of ASL from The Gordon Primary school. It is greatly appreciated that she offers her time free to volunteer for this project. Parents/ guardians enjoyed some time together for food and conversation.

Our first programme of events ran during the school holidays in July 2025. Plans are already in place for future evenst for the Tattie and Festive Holiday period.
